heh

As usual, not much happening. I’ve been working working working.

New Airline Video

Excellente! One of my fave local bands/friends Airline are releasing a new cd in a month or so and have just put out a new video “She’s Wasted”. Great stuff – Beatlesque keys, uniquely epic song structure and great dynamics.

Well this is too cool. Fever in the Funkhouse are reuniting for a New Year’s Eve show at Club Dada!

I’m not sure what lineup they will have but I’ll be there for sure. The last time they played at dada it was just Nick Briscoe and Chris Clairidy. Hoping they have the full band this time.

You can hear some tunes on their myspace page.

oh yeah… the website, the cd, music

Crickets abound, dust gathers, bones laze.

Can’t seem to pull things together, the album needs a few more parts, but again the lyrics are all that remain to be finished. Sorry for the delays, I’ll just say it will be done when it is done.

Still, I am not tired of the tunes. I’ve heard them a million times and they still sound fresh to me. If you see me out, I’ll play you some stuff!

Other junk:

Harvey of Gentlemen Losers just finished a new solo album. Lots of good geetar work from Joe. I’m gonna help him with a website and other promo junk in the next few weeks.

Check out ‘Lovie’snew cd. I met their keyboardist, CJ a couple of weeks ago – what a cool, positive and outgoing person. I really like their 30-something band philosophy.

Many of the shows at Dada have been really packed and rockin’, most notibly Dirty Sweet. I normally don’t enjoy this kind of music, but it was exciting to see such a road-hard, confident, tight band play to adoring fans.

The Fever discussion continues between former bandmates.

AMANDADA

amandadaHoly Banana eyeball corn sandwiches, Batman!

Amanda Newman has become a co-owner of Club Dada.

She’s done so much for the club since it re-opened, it only makes sense she should own part of it. She’ll be bringing back her monthly artist in residence series, the thursday new music ‘listening to…’ nights and has re-recruited Jenn Nabb to do Open Mic Sundays.

I’m very very happy for ya Amanda, what a great deal for everyone in the Dallas music scene.
